When Malaysia acquired its first electric train in 1994-1995 and other trains in the years that followed, there arose an urgent need for specialised on-site support services to ensure and maintain these trains at optimum performance levels. To fulfill this need Platinum Railway Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd. came into being.

Platinum Railway Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd. founded in February 1998 is a technical support services provider to the railway industry.

Providing an extensive range of services to main contractors, sub-contractors and end users. Platinum Railway Engineering Services offers an efficient on-site support services package that is highly specialized and cost effective.



Hueen Sutherland - Managing Director

The driving force behind Platinum Railway Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd. is its founder and Managing Director, Hueen Sutherland. A mechanical engineer by profession with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, he acquired his Chartership in mechanical engineering in 1987, and went on to become a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers UK, in 1997. Specialising in stress failure analysis and design integrity, he also holds a diploma from the British society for strain measurements. Previously employed by Jenbacher Transportsysteme AG of Austria as the General Manager for product support in Malaysia. Hueen Sutherland brings with him twenty years of experience in mechanical engineering, design and production. He is supported by a team of professional engineers, technicians and administrative personnel.
